Mary Agnes Kushak 101 of Harbor Springs passed away Sunday January 25, 2009 at Bay Bluffs Medical Care Facility.
Mary was born March 31, 1907 at Larks Lake, Mi. the daughter of John and Agnes (Kosieniak) Wrona. She married Tony Kushak on May 21, 1943. Mary and her husband Tony owned the Pier Bar in Harbor Springs from 1956-1962. He preceded her in death in 1991. Mary was a lifelong resident of northern Michigan residing at Larks Lake, Beaver Island, Cross Village and Harbor Springs. She served as the unofficial family historian of the Wrona family and found special joy in her nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Thomas Kushak and his wife Marilyn of Springfield, Ill., two grandchildren Chase Kushak and his wife Jen of Oakland Twp., Mi. and Sanya Kushak of Springfield, Ill., and two great grandchildren Sydney and Brooke Kushak. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings Pete, Frank, Steven, Lewis “Duke”, Joseph, Sofia Marszalec, Nellie Podsada, Anna Kaniarz, Estelle Mazurek and Jennie Lasley.
Mary was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Harbor Springs where the Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 11:00 AM. Fr. Joseph Graff will be the celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring in Holy Childhood Cemetery. Friends may call on Wed., Jan. 28, from 6-8:00 PM at Schiller Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Bay Bluffs Medical Care Facility.
